Karen Jackson-Turner and Delores Jackson Memorial Scholarship reopening in 2027. The scholarship purpose is being rearticulated This scholarship will now be open to 18-21 year old's who plan to complete a 4 year degree and abide by the terms of the scholarship contract.

Scholarship Application

1. Budget and College Goals
How would this help you with your budget in getting through college to where you want to be in your career, life, and family? (Write one paragraph and submit a budget.)

2. Personal Goals
Write two paragraphs. (Talk about yourself and how this will help reach your goals.)

3. Spreading Love in the Community
Karen and Delores were go-to people when you needed straightforward advice whether it was physical, mental, or spiritual. Write two paragraphs. (How you will spread love in the community and how those ideas will make a difference.)

4. Defining Strength
Karen and Delores represented strength in medical, physical, mental, and soulful ways. (1-page essay defining strength and how you will manifest their strength.)

5. Maintaining and Growing Goals
Throughout all your life experiences. Write two paragraphs. (Maintaining your goals and continuing to grow your goals.)

6. Growing Your Community
Write a paragraph. (Define what growing your community means, list and maintain a project that can be passed on to future generations, explain its impact on the greater community, include an implementation plan, and note that a progress report is required during the scholarship year.)

7. Staying Positive and Faith
Stay positive and keep pushing. Life always presents you with struggles. Faith is important. Write two paragraphs. (Define faith and explain how you will surround yourself with like energy and faith.)

What you must agree to for the award

Karen Jackson-Turner & Delores Jackson Memorial Scholarship Contract

I, ____________________________________, agree to abide by the terms of this scholarship contract. Violation of any terms will result in the scholarship converting to a loan. Completion of the four-year commitment fulfills this contract. My signature, along with notarized witness signatures below, constitutes a legally binding document. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the school over four payments in full faith, honoring the values of Karen Jackson-Turner and Delores Jackson.

Terms

1. God will always be central to this scholarship.

2. I will follow my application responses, specifically regarding my project (Question 6), and provide updates every three months via email: kJtandDJmemorialscholarship@gmail.com.

3. I will complete four years of education at my chosen college/university.

4. I will proactively seek guidance and support from my family and the Jackson family to ensure educational success.

5. I will honor the legacy and values of the scholarship namesakes.

6. I acknowledge that my success and challenges are collaborative efforts. I will remember I have a supportive village behind me throughout my journey.
